RLST held a scientific practical seminar entitled, "Built-in Fire Fighting Systems" for representatives of enterprises and organizations in charge of fire safety. Over 30 experts of fire departments of industrial enterprises and scientific research and educational institutions took part in the event.

New books from a series entitled "Look Before You Leap" were received by RLST for its collection and are available for the readers in the reading room of technological normative documents (room 504). The editions called, "Saw-Timber and Timber Cutting" and "Professional Inlaying" contain brief technical description of products and half-staff, which is needed when project is calculated, materials are ordered, and also, in transportation and construction processes.

A new exposition called, "Young People of the Planet" opened in the Information Center of the Republic Scientific Technical Library. The exposition displays materials from the collection of the Sustainable Development Library and is dedicated to the World Population Day. Location: Minsk, Pobediteley ave., 7, Room 607. RLST conducted a regular event of the project, "Belarusian Names in World Science and Technology." The meeting was dedicated to Alexander Skirmunt, the first Belarusian inventor, who took out the first patent in Belarus for the innovation in the field of sugar production in 1830.

On July 2, the Information Center of the Republic Scientific Technical Library (room 607) will host historians, experts in sugar industry, Belarusian media representatives, and students of Minsk institutes and universities for a meeting of an academic cafe entitled, "Belarusian Names in World Science and Technology." The event is dedicated to Alexander Skirmunt, the first Belarusian inventor.
